Nelson Doula Collective

At the Nelson Doula Collective, we are deeply committed to ensuring that every birthing person, no matter their income, race, gender, sexual orientation, or background, has access to compassionate and informed care. We believe that everyone deserves a positive and transformative pregnancy, postpartum and birth experience. Our collective is built around a community of doulas who uplift and empower individuals throughout every phase of their birthing journey, from fertility through to postpartum.

Our work is focused on creating an inclusive and supportive environment for birthing people and their families, with particular attention to those from underserved and marginalized communities. We offer compassionate doula services that provide care, confidence, and peace of mind. Additionally, we provide mentorship to aspiring doulas and advocate for equitable, culturally sensitive birth experiences, ensuring that every person is treated with the respect and care they deserve.

At the heart of the Nelson Doula Collective is a passion for changing the way birth is experienced, ensuring that access to compassionate care is available to all, no matter their circumstances. We believe in a world where everyone can have a positive, empowering birth experience—and we’re here to help make that happen.

All of our doulas are certified under the Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program. Additionally, we can provide invoices that may be used to claim our fees through your extended benefit provider, should they offer coverage.

At the Nelson Doula Collective, we operate as a collaborative team. You'll have the opportunity to meet each of our doulas during your prenatal appointments and we work then on a set on call schedule to attend your birth.
